Patrons of the Melrose Park Library now have access to two new resources Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest

Visit the library to have access to Ancestry.com which allows you to search historical records, stories,photos,maps, and many other publications and databases.

Log in to Heritage Quest using your library card, from anywhere to gain access to Census Records (dating back to 1790), Revolutionary War records, Freedman's Bank and many other resources.

Online Resources

Local Death Index is searchable resource that indexes the obituaries in the Melrose Park Herald, which the library keeps in the historical collection.

Rootsweb is a free version of the online database Ancestry.com

Social Security Death Index is a database of people who have died since the institution of Social Security in 1936; updated regularly.

National Archives, the official US Government repository for US Census records, passenger ship lists, land records, etc.
